Love banana ketchup? Thank the late Filipino chemist Maria Ylagan Orosa! Around 100 years ago, she began researching and inventing various recipes and kitchen tools. She invented a “palayok oven,” created jams using local ingredients, and made recipes for both banana and mango ketchup, among other innovations.
